Do whatever you can to stay away from those places. What they do is just legalized theft from poor working people. As the other posters suggest, try a pawnshop, family, anything rather than starting a cycle of debt payments.

No it’s not your fault. She’s your mum and you love her but this really isn’t your problem, she’s supposed to be a mature and sensible person and if she can’t handle her own finances because she’d rather get her nails done and have a Domino’s then that’s her fault.
Get out and get to Uni, let her f*ck up her finances however she wants. Won’t have anyone but herself to blame when you move out will she? Xx

Uh no, in no way is it your fault. Your mother is a grown adult, she makes her own bad decisions. It sounds like she simply is irresponsible and wants someone to blame. You are not taking money from her, you are paying for everything for yourself. She’s being selfish and immature. I hate parents that blame their children for their own mistakes because the kids happened grow up more responsible than themselves.

Are you working for a corporation? My guess is the pay periods don’t exactly line up with the paydays. For example, I used to work at a company where the pay periods were the first two weeks and the last two weeks of the month. But, we had to wait for corporate to run payroll and mail checks, so we got paid on the first and third Friday of the month, each time a week after the previous pay period.
